Claire Newburn, Litigation

Claire Newburn

Claire graduated from York University in 2004 where she read Literature and History before moving to Newcastle to study law. She passed her postgraduate in Law with distinction in 2006 and completed her training in an established law firm in Darlington. During her training Claire gained a wealth of experience in litigation and had one of her cases published in the law reports. Claire qualified in 2008 and moved to Gibson and Co as an associate in the litigation department.

Claire has had a wide variety of litigation experience and has represented clients in disputes concerning construction projects, probate matters over high value estates, commercial property and partnerships. Claire has also handled cases involving contractual disputes covering issues such as I.P, director disqualification, confidentiality clauses, and the Commercial Agents Regulations. Claire assists the partners in the litigation department with large-scale cases whilst developing and managing her own client caseload.

Away from the office Claire can be found training in both Jiu Jitsu and Kung Fu and considering which adventure sport to try next. She balances the adrenaline junky within herself and relaxes by playing jazz on her saxophone.
